On September 23, 2021, a Philadelphia judge ruled in favor of Schlam Stone & Dolan’s client, Paul Morrissey, on a summary-judgment motion brought by the famed Philadelphia St. Joseph’s Preparatory School, known as the “Prep.”
In this suit, Schlam Stone & Dolan alleged that the Prep breached its contract with Mr. Morrissey when it refused to renew his employment in 2019—despite Mr. Morrissey’s stellar teaching record and longstanding service, including as chair of the math department, to the Prep. Back in July, the Prep moved for summary judgment, seeking to dismiss all Mr. Morrissey’s claims.
But a Philadelphia judge rejected the Prep’s arguments and held that there were issues of fact requiring a trial. A great result for Schlam Stone & Dolan and its client!
The Schlam Stone & Dolan team is led by attorneys Jeffrey Eilender, Joshua Wurtzel, Chris Dyess, and Angela Li.
