Jolène LaVigne-Albert
Jolène maintains a cross-practice that includes commercial litigation (in particular, intellectual property and cryptocurrency matters) as well as white-collar criminal defense. She is experienced in all aspects of civil and criminal litigation, from internal investigations and negotiations with adversaries and prosecutors, to motion practice, discovery and trial. In recent years, she conducted two federal criminal jury trials and a bench trial in New York State court involving a billion-dollar intellectual property dispute. In addition to her United States-based clients, Jolène regularly advises Canadian and other international clients. She is fluent in French.
Jolène entered law school after completing three years of a B.B.A. with a near-perfect GPA. She studied common law in French at the Université de Moncton in Canada, where she graduated first in her class, and obtained her LL.B in 2011. Jolène clerked for Justice Thomas Cromwell of the Supreme Court of Canada before practicing with Sullivan & Cromwell LLP in New York.
